Department Profile Classics at Newcastle University has a long and distinguished international reputation for its research and teaching. Latin and Greek have been taught here since 1874, and Ancient History and Classical Archaeology since 1910 and 1931 respectively. Its past and present staff record features scholars of outstanding international reputation.
