Building on the success of last year's Annual Conference in York, this meeting featured a large and wide-ranging programme. Highlights included Professor Steven Shapin's keynote address on the Atkins diet in historical perspective, and a visit to the Merseyside Maritime Museum. The BSHS Education Section once again organised a full-day programme on teaching and learning issues in school-level, further and higher education.
