Book your hotel room before May 19 for the Three Societies Meeting in order to take advantage of the reserved conference rates.  This gathering of the British Society for the History of Science, the Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science and the History of Science Society brings together historians of science every four years for a major international conference.  This conference will take place June 22-25, 2016, at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

We are busy with final preparations for this conference, and look forward to welcoming you to Edmonton. We have an exciting program taking shape, complete with a new addition – a play reading of Radical, a Canadian play written by a fellow historian of medicine, Charles Hayter, concerning early resistance to radical mastecdomies in Canada in the 1970s.  I also want to point out an amazing exhibition at the Art Gallery of Alberta, where we will be holding a reception, called include 7: Professional Native Indian Artists Inc. This is a truly iconic exhibition, of some of the most famous Canadian aboriginal artists.

There are a wide range of affordable housing options: just go to and follow the links to the hotel of your choice.  But don’t delay, since we only have the conference rate until May 19.

You can access the special conference rates for the hotels both before and after the conference (from June 19-27), in case you want to do a bit more exploring.  We will also provide you with links to make your own arrangements for other travel in the area such as: to the Rocky Mountains and Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise or the Columbia Icefields; to the Alberta Badlands and Royal Tyrrell Dinosaur Museum.
