The BSHS has already awarded many travel grants for the 3-Societies Meeting in Edmonton in June 2016, but is prepared to consider making additional awards.
To apply for a travel grant, please send a brief email to the Executive Secretary, [email protected], by Friday 5 February, with the subject heading “3-Societies Grant Application.” In the body of the email, please (a) confirm your status as a member of the Society; (b) indicate your institutional affiliation (if any), and whether you’re a postgraduate student, postdoctoral fellow, staff member etc.; and (c) indicate whether you’ve submitted a paper proposal for consideration at the Edmonton conference, and if so, please provide the abstract and any other relevant details.
Successful applicants will be notified by mid-February. Eligibility is restricted to members of the Society based outside North America. Only applicants who will be giving talks at the conference are now eligible.
In line with the BSHS’s commitment to promoting international activity and exchange, the Society is prepared to award in excess of £20,000 to assist our members in participating in the 2016 3-Societies conference, which is jointly organized by the History of Science Society, the Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science, and the BSHS. We expect to offer a comparable sum next year in support of travel to the International Congress in Rio in July 2017.
