The BSHS has established the 3 Societies Conference Travel Fund to enable postgraduate student members to attend the 2012 3 Societies Conference in Philadelphia.  Applications will be considered for amounts up to £750 to cover the cost of travelling to the meeting.  The BSHS is not able to consider applications for registration or accommodation costs.

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be currently registered for a postgraduate degree
• Applicants must be members of the Society.
• Applicants must be resident outside of North America
• Preference will be given to those who are delivering papers or otherwise involved in the proceedings of the conference, eg organising and chairing a session

Applications should be made on the form provided, and sent to the Executive Secretary (email marked ‘3 Societies Travel Fund’).  The deadline is 19 December 2011 and the email address is office@bshs.org.uk

You will need to fill in the form below and provide a copy of the abstract you have submitted if you are intending to deliver a paper.  Please ask your supervisor to send a reference directly to the BSHS Executive Secretary via email.

Applications will be considered by the BSHS Grants Committee.  No interviews will be held.  The Society may offer an amount less than that applied for.  No correspondence will be entered into except under exceptional circumstances.

A claim form will be sent to successful applicants using the email address supplied on the application form.  Grants can then be claimed by submitting the claim form, with proof of travel costs preferably as a scanned document.  Claims can be submitted prior to the conference but the BSHS reserves the right to request return of funds if the applicant does not attend.
