History of Technology – Sabbatical Replacement

The Humanities and Social Sciences Department, Oregon Institute of Technology, invites applications for a one-year, half-time sabbatical replacement position in the History of Technology. The person hired will teach a half time load (two courses per quarter), consisting of a year-long introductory survey of the history of technology and a year-long survey of United States history, and will participate in a teaching mentoring program. Salary is $18,000 for a nine-month contract; the position includes medical benefits and the possibility of arranged housing.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in the History of Technology, History of Science or related field; ability to teach year-long sequences in the history of technology (Ancient World to Modern) and United States history.

Please note that due to our teaching mentoring program, previous teaching experience is not required. We strongly encourage individuals early in their careers, particularly women and members of minority groups, to apply.
