Call for Paper for a section “The Encounter of Reproductive Technoscience and Local Bodies in Asia” for the 4S meeting in Vancouver in November 2-4
Description: In recent years, the reproductive technoscience has developed rapidly in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan. Compared to the numerous scholarly work on the interaction of the new reproductive technologies and society (particularly gender relationship) in the Western world, how the East Asian social and cultural contexts shape the development of these new technologies, and how gender identities in Asia has transformed through such technoscientific development, have seldom been presented systematically in a collaboration format, like a conference panel. If you are interested in joining this panel “The Encounter of Reproductive Technoscience and Local Bodies in Asia” which will be submitted to the annual meeting of Society for Social Studies of Science, please give me the title of the paper, your affiliation, by email to [email protected]. Any suggestion and ideas about organizing such a panel are welcome.
