Welcome to the BSHS List of Theses, covering postgraduate dissertations in the UK and Republic of Ireland in progress or completed since 1999.
The List was most recently updated in April 2007, but still lacks data for some institutions, and may contain some out-of-date information. Please send any updates to theses@bshs.org.uk, including the forename(s) and surname(s) of the candidate, degree title, thesis title, full- or part-time status, supervisor details, and start or completion date.

Broader search tools for UK and Irish theses in general are provided in the Index to Theses. Worldwide theses in the field are covered by the History of Science, Technology and Medicine index, available via RLG Eureka. Both services require a subscription, and cover only completed theses.
About the List of Theses
The List appeared until 2001 as an annual print publication to members. Since that date it has been published cumulatively at intervals on the Society's website. It is compiled from institutional websites, postgraduate members' details solicited at conferences, responses to our surveys of institutions, and individual correspondence.
The current edition is intended to cover as fully as possible the period from 1999 onwards, and incorporates data on completed theses from print Lists 30, 31 and 32.
BSHS respects the privacy of individual scholars and does not reproduce thesis information it does not believe to be in the public domain. We do not, by policy, include in the List information on withdrawn or suspended theses. Please contact us at theses@bshs.org.uk if you have any concerns about the information listed here.
The List was last updated by Jakob Bek-Thomsen, and includes content researched by James Sumner and Viviane Quirke.
