Interdisciplinary conference on Science and Technology in Nineteenth-Century Ireland

Registration is now open for the interdisciplinary conference on Science and Technology in Nineteenth-Century Ireland, 2-3 July 2009.  Hosted by the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin and organised by the Society for the Study of Nineteenth-Century Ireland and the RIA’s National Committee for the History of Irish Science, the conference programme includes papers on visual, literary, historical and geographical approaches to nineteenth-century science.  The plenary will be on ‘The Irish response to Darwinism’, delivered by philosopher Dr Tom Duddy of the National University of Ireland, Galway.
