International Symposium “Lavoisier in Perspective”

A scientific symposium on the history of chemistry with Lavoisier as its focal point is planned for September 12-13, 2003 in the Deutsches Museum.

In an official ceremony, which will take place on September 12, 2003 (19:00) the bust of A.-L. Lavoisier will be brought into the Deutsches Museum’s Hall of Fame.
Antoine Laurent Lavoisier (1743-1794) is the first non-German scientist to be honoured in the Museum’s Hall of Fame. This ceremony, one of a number of activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Museum’s founding in 1903, represents both a historical milestone and an important step toward achieving true internationality for the Deutsches Museum. The ceremony is followed by a reception.
