University Professorship (salary scale W3) in Practical Philosophy with
a focus on Ethics of Science to be appointed as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will participate in the teaching of the
interdisciplinary Bachelor (teacher training program) in the subjects of
Philosophy and Values and Norms, as well as in the minor Philosophy in
the Bachelor program Political Science. Teaching is in German. The
candidate should be prepared to cooperate across disciplinary boundaries
and to contribute to the development of new study programs. Experiences
with application for third-party funding, as well as good international
contacts are expected.
The general tasks, responsibilities and appointment requirements are
specified in the Higher Education Act of Lower Saxony (Niedersächsisches
Hochschulgesetz — NHG). Details will be explained on request. An option
of part-time employment is possible.
The Leibniz Universität Hannover aims, in particular, to promote women
within the scope of the statutory provisions and, hence, emphatically
invites qualified women to apply for this position. Severely disabled
applicants will be given preferential consideration in the event of
equal qualification. The University expressly welcomes applications by
candidates from abroad.
The Mission of the Leibniz Universität Hannover pursues an international
orientation in teaching and research, and attaches particular importance
to providing students with excellent advisory, support and
guidance-counselling services and to integrating the university into
both the region and the State of Lower Saxony. Hence, the University
expects professors to support this goal by relocating their main place
of residence to Hannover and its surroundings.
Applicants who have already turned 50 at the time of the aspired
appointment and who do not already have civil servant status will, by
principle, receive an employment contract that does not include the
German civil servant status.
