We write to invite you to the international ‘Varieties of Cultural History’ conference, to be held at the University of Aberdeen, 5-8 July 2007.
The conference offers an opportunity for cultural historians in diverse fields to discuss the current state and the possible futures of this discipline. It serves also to celebrate twenty-one years of the undergraduate Cultural History programme and the establishment, this year, of a taught MLitt.
Amongst the 60 or more papers there will be keynote addresses by Peter Burke, Peter Mandler, Alice Jenkins, Crosbie Smith, Michael Stolberg and Evelyn Welch.

The event is generously supported by the British Academy, the Wellcome Trust, the British Society for the History of Science, the Society for the Social History of Medicine, the British Society for Literature and Science, Cultural Sociology Journal, the School of Divinity, History and Philosophy, and the School of Medicine of the University of Aberdeen.
There are limited funds available to support attendance by postgraduate students who are members of the British Society for the History of Science and the Society for the Social History of Medicine..
