The history department at Fordham University is seeking to hire a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of technology or material culture, with a particular interest in urban, industrial, and/or environmental concerns. Preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching strengths have a comparative, international, or trans-national dimension. Teaching responsibilities will consist of the department’s introductory course (The West: From Enlightenment to the Present), and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate’s field. The position includes opportunities to teach in the University’s interdisciplinary programs, e. g. the International Political and Economic Development program or Urban Studies.
