DINGLE PRIZE 2009

  • Matthew Stanley, Practical Mystic. Religion, Science, and A. S. Eddington (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2007)
  • John Waller, A Time to Dance, a Time to Die. The Extraordinary Story of the Dancing Plague of 1518 (Thriplow, Cambridge: Icon Books, 2008)

The winner will be announced at the President’s Dinner at the BSHS Annual Meeting in Leicester on Saturday 4 July 2009.

The Dingle Prize is offered biennially by the British Society for the History of Science. The 2009 competition was for the best book in the history of science, technology, and medicine published in English in 2007 and 2008, which is accessible to a wide audience of non-specialists. The winner will receive £300 from the Society.
