University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health is seeking an historian to research and write its story. Using the theme “Transferring the Tradition” the finished product will chronicle the history of the graduate school of public health in an urban environment spanning the period from World II to globilization and beyond.

1. Requirements:

a. Familiarity with the history and science of public health; familiarity with Western Pennsylvania is desirable but not required

b. Ability to utilize the institutional memory of faculty, students,staff and other stakeholders as well as archival material

c. Availability to complete the entire project by April, 2005

d. Completion or near completion of the PhD in United States history is preferred.
