Co-Leader of a Junior Research Group (JRG) on History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science (TV-L 13)

The Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF) in an Institute for Advanced Study at Bielefeld University. In co-operation with the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS), fundet by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the framework of the Initiative for Excellence, the ZiF is looking for a scholar to form an interdisciplinary JRG on History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science.

The Junior Research Group offers funds for 2 doctoral students. The position of the Junior Research Group Leader is available from 1 October 2009 and will run until 31 October 2012. Remuneration is according to German civil service scale TV-L 13.

Applicants should have outstanding academic qualifications, a doctoral degree in the humanities or the social sciences, and should be interested in pursuing interdisciplinary research in the field of history of science or sociology of science.
