Our 2006 Postgraduate Conference was held at the School of Historical and Critical Studies, University of Brighton, Brighton, Sussex, UK from 4-6 January 2006. The choice of venue reflecting a growing interest in both the research and teaching of the History of Science within the University. With over thirty papers over two days, the range of topics covered was broad, and demonstrated the strength and diversity of current history of science postgraduate scholarship.
Despite the wintry weather that prevented full use of such proximity to the beachfront, a marvelous time was had by all, as the event provided a welcoming and friendly introduction to academic presentation, questioning, and networking.
