The Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Wichita State University is pleased to invite applications and nominations for the Curtis D. Gridley Professorship in the History and Philosophy of Science, a position newly created under the Kansas Regents’ Distinguished Faculty program. This is a tenured, full-time appointment, to be made at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy, History, HPS or a closely related discipline. The area of specialization within HPS is open. The college seeks a distinguished teacher-scholar with an established reputation, significant publication record, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and general education, successful experience with diverse populations and a demonstrated commitment to diversity. The Gridley Professorship will be housed jointly in the Department of History and the Department of Philosophy. The primary teaching duties will be at the undergraduate level, although supervision of graduate research may occur within the M.A. program in History or the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies. The appointment begins August 1, 2005, and carries with it a competitive salary and an annual research allowance.
