GRADUATE STUDENT (4 YEARS) OR POST-DOC (2.5 YEARS) FELLOWSHIP Anthropology/History of Technology in the Indonesian Archipelago (apologies for cross-postings)

Applications are being accepted for a position at the Wageningen University and Research Center in the Netherlands to contribute to a research program on the history of (post-) colonial technology in the Indonesian Archipelago. The program, Technology and the Civilizing Mission: Dutch Colonial Development in the European Context, 1870-1970 is being funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and is being done in cooperation with researchers at the Eindhoven University of Technology and the Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde) in Leiden. Preference will go to either an anthropologist with experience and/or interest in historical research or to a historian with experience and/or interest in anthropology. Prerequisites include reading knowledge of Dutch and strong writing skills in English. Knowledge of Indonesian is a plus.
