Two Hans Rausing Scholarships for Doctoral study in the History of Science and Technology
The Centre is proposing to offer two Hans Rausing Scholarships to outstanding candidates who wish to undertake doctoral studies in the history of science and Technology in the Centre. Other than excluding projects which fall exclusively within the history of medicine, there is no restriction of period or topic.
The awards will be for four years for candidates without a masters’ degree and three for those with.
A full postgraduate award for full-time study will provide funds to meet:
• payment of approved home or overseas college fees to Imperial College
• a maintenance grant paid to the student
• additional support towards the costs of fieldwork or study visits for students pursuing doctoral research
The award will correspond to the prevailing rates for Doctoral research offered by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), which currently awards a maintenance grant of £14,000 (inclusive of £2,000 central London allowance).
