The Arts and Humanities Section of the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine invites manuscript proposals for a special edition focused on Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Genomics. Articles may be either analytical or narrative
Analytical articles may be grounded in historical, policy, anthropological, or sociological methodologies. We welcome articles that span geographical and chronological boundaries. Examples include the impact of free clinics on diabetes care or the history of secret societies in medical education. Analysis pieces should be limited to 6,000 words.
Narrative articles should provide personal perspectives on medical or biomedical topics in a clear narrative voice — pieces might describe clinical or medical school experiences or interviews with important figures in biology and medicine, for example. Narratives should be limited to 3,000 words.
Proposals for articles should be limited to 250 words. Please submit abstracts in Word format to the Arts and Humanities Editors, Julia Irwin ([email protected]) and Mary Ellen Leuver ([email protected])
Abstract submission deadline: July 1, 2007 Article submission deadline (for publication in December, 2007): September 15, 2007
