The 22nd International Congress of History of Science will be held in Beijing from July 24 to 30, 2005. On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee I am sending you this invitation, sincerely welcoming you to Beijing to attend this quadrennial celebration of the international community of the history of science.

China is a huge and developing country, with the most dynamic economy in the world today. The history of science also benefits from this prosperity, and is receiving more and more attention and support both from the state and society at large. Of course, not all things in this world are predictable, but as the organizers of the 2005 Congress we can promise you that we shall do our best to provide you with the finest possible service for this event.
