University of Newcastle Upon Tyne Lectureship (Wellcome Trust Award) History of Medicine School of Historical Studies £27,194 – £37,643 p.a.
The School of Historical Studies is seeking to nominate a candidate for a Wellcome Trust University Award in the History of Medicine. University Awards are lectureships with a strong emphasis on research during the first five years. Subject to satisfactory progress, the position will be converted into a University Lectureship after the five-year award period.
You will concentrate on a specific research project and contribute to teaching and further development of History of Medicine courses.You should have a doctorate and an excellent research and publication record in any area relating to the history of medicine (broadly defined) that will add a novel contribution to the School.
You will develop a full application to the Wellcome Trust, working in co-operation with, and if appropriate supported by, the School by 01/12/2006. Subject to the Trust’s confirmation of the award, the post could be available from 01/05/2007, but must be taken up by 01/09/2007.
