Durham MA Studentships in the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine
Durham University Department of Philosophy will be offering several postgraduate studentships (scholarships) for students reading for its MA in Philosophy or its MA in the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine (HPSM) during the 2006-2007 academic year. In order to be eligible, candidates must (1) have outstanding references and marks/undergraduate degree at least at 2:1 level and (2) submit an official university application for the MA programme no later than 15 April 2006.
The Studentships are as follows:
Doreen Bretherton Studentship — Full tuition for European Union (EU) students or £3000 towards the tuition of a non-EU student.
Philosophy Alumni Studentship – £1500 towards the tuition of EU or non-EU student.
Wellcome Trust Studentship — Open to students enrolled in the HPSM MA who write their dissertation on a topic relevant to the history of medicine. It covers fees at the home/EU rate and it provides a maintenance stipend. Non-EU candidates are eligible, but restrictions do apply.
