Wed 9 March, 6.30 pm Stephan Hartmann meets Fabio Toscano At the heart of Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity resides the work of an unfairly overlooked Italian mathematician – Gregorio Ricci Curbastro. Fabio Toscano, author of Il Genio e il Gentiluomo (Sironi Editore, 2004; http://www.math.it/libri/geniogentiluomo.htm) and Stephan Hartmann (Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science, LSE)will explore the story behind the mathematician and his relationship with Albert Einstein.
