Metals Conservator – Department of Conservation, Documentation and Science

The British Museum is currently looking to recruit a Metals Conservator to work in the Department of Conservation, Documentation and Science.

As a member of the team of conservators in the Ceramics, Glass and Metals Section, you will assist with the practical conservation, restoration and preservation of the museum’s collection of historical and archaeological metal artefacts for display, loans, storage and research purposes.

You will possess a recognised professional qualification in the conservation of historical and/or archaeological metal objects and have practical skills in the conservation of metals. This will be shown in your experience of the conservation of archaeological and historical metals from a range of different periods and cultures.

On-site archaeological conservation experience and conservation knowledge of other materials, for example ceramics and glass, will also be an advantage.

For further information or a full application pack, please visit http://www.britishmuseum.org/the_museum/jobs.aspx or email [email protected] quoting reference 73897.
