One-year postdoc: History of science, early modern to Enlightenment

The Department of History of Science and Technology at the Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship,1 July 2004 to 30 June 2005, in the history of early modern science or technology, 16th through 18th century,. Area of study is open. All requirements for PhD should be completed by June 2004. Applications should include c.v., two letters of recommendation, brief description of current research and plans for the fellowship year, description of teaching experience and proposal for one undergraduate course. Teaching load is one course per semester, including a survey of the Scientific Revolution in the fall semester. Second course will be in candidate’s field of interest. Stipend is $32,500, with $2,000 available for travel/research. Review of applications will begin immediately. Closing date is 15 April 2004.
