University of British Columbia

The University of British Columbia announces a one-year postdoctoral
fellowship in science and technology studies, funded by the SSHRC Cluster
Grant, “Situating Science.” The fellowship is for one year with a base
salary of $35,000, with the possibility of augmenting this salary through
teaching ($6000 per course and up to a maximum of three courses over the
year). In addition to engaging in research, the fellow will be expected to
engage in networking activities for the UBC node of the grant network,
including helping to plan and execute the Cluster conference on “Objectivity
in Science” to be held in Vancouver in June 2010. Applicants must articulate
how their research projects fit within one or more of the four themes of the
cluster; these themes can be found at www.situsci.ca/en/aboutus.html.

Full applications will contain a cover letter, academic cv, writing sample,
and at least three letters of reference. Application deadline is 4 May 2009.
