The Wellcome Unit for the History of Medicine (Oxford) presents a symposium focused upon exploring the ‘Recipe’ in early modern Europe. This interdisciplinary meeting aims to bring together a group of students and scholars to assess the current-state of research in this emerging field. Panel topics include: materia medica, literature and medicine, recipes in early modern Europe (Germany, France and Spain), recipes and medical practice, women’s health and recipes, the Ricettario Fiorentino and urban healthcare and the linguistic structure of recipes in early modern Europe.
