History of Science and Medicine: The history department at Santa Clara University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship, to begin in fall 2009, in the history of Science and Medicine. The successful candidate must develop several courses for the University’s Science, Technology and Society requirement. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to develop courses in her or his specialization, in one or more of the following fields: global studies, migration, colonialism/postcolonialism, gender studies, medical history, and/or British history. Applications from candidates able to contribute to multidisciplinary majors and minors, including but not limited to Women’s and Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, and/or International Studies are particularly welcome. We are also interested in faculty able to contribute to Santa Clara’s Residential Learning Communities. Candidates should show evidence of ability to publish in peer-reviewed venues. A Ph.D. in History, History of Science, or History of Medicine is required.
