Senior Academic Consultant, An Oral History of British Science

National Life Stories (www.bl.uk/nls) runs a national oral history fieldwork programme collecting interviews with people from a wide cross-section of British life for public access at the British Library.  An Oral History of British Science is a major initiative creating an archive for the study and public understanding of contemporary science and technology in Britain through 200 in-depth interviews with British scientists.  An Oral History of British Science has been underway since November 2009, see http://www.bl.uk/historyofscience.

We are seeking a Senior Academic Consultant with a track-record in the contemporary history of science to help us shape and manage the project.

This is a flexible freelance consultancy, commanding attractive fees over a two year period commensurate with experience.
