BT Connected Earth Senior Research Fellow- 3 Year £24,000- 4 days per week- Science Museum South Kensington
The Science Museum has entered into a landmark collaboration with BT to communicate to wide audiences on the history of communications. The BT Connected Earth Senior Research Fellow will be generating a range of research products aimed at making a real impact on the publics understanding of the role of telecommunications in our history. Dedicated to creating a dialogue about the past present and future of telecommunications, you will write an accessible account of the history of telecommunications founded in modern history of science/ technology scholarship. You will curate small story – led exhibitions and produce web products that engage our audiences. You will play a significant role in connecting the museums in the Connected Earth Consortium.
This role demands extensive knowledge, vision and a real commitment to public engagement in the history of technology, finding innovative ways to engage diverse audiences with telecommunications, material culture and history.
The postholder will have an established academic track record in the history of technology; several years teaching experience or equivalent and substantial published output; Experience of working with objects or collections or within the museum sector would be beneficial.
