As part of its programme of research support, the Department of Philosophy is seeking to appoint a temporary Lecturer or Teaching Fellow for one year, beginning 1 September 2007. The post arises in the first instance out of the need to cover the study leave of a number of members of staff and cover undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision in the following area:
History of Science
For a Lecturer appointment, you will have a PhD (awarded or nearing completion) in an appropriate area of the History and Philosophy of Science, relevant experience of teaching within the discipline and will be developing a publication profile appropriate for submission in the next RAE exercise.
For a Teaching Fellow appointment you will have a postgraduate qualification in an appropriate area of the History and Philosophy of Science and some relevant experience of teaching within the discipline.
For either posts you will be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills and a range of delivery techniques and assessment methods.
