History of Science/Medicine Virginia Commonwealth University
The Department of History at Virginia Commonwealth University seeks to make a tenure-track appointment in the History of Science and Medicine, beginning August 2006. Rank open. Ph.D. at time of appointment required. Must be able to develop and teach advanced undergraduate and masters level courses in the History of Science and Medicine, as well as general history survey courses. The successful candidate will also have the expertise, scholarship, and a career orientation well suited for collaborative teaching and/or research related to the university’s major programs and initiatives in Medicine as well as the Health and Life Sciences. Teaching experience and publications preferred for junior rank; required for senior appointment. Secondary fields that contribute to the department’s curricular needs desirable.
