Wellcome Unit for History of Medicine, University of Manchester

Research Associate in History of Medicine > -> Two Posts (Refs Ref 286/03 and 287/03))

The Manchester Wellcome Unit invites applications for two Research Associate posts, funded by the Wellcome Trust, for an initial period of one year, renewable for two years more, starting September 2003.

Post 1 will work in 19th and/or 20th century medicine on a Unit project/s and their own area. Applicants should have, or be about to be awarded, a PhD in history of medicine, or allied area, and have the capacity for high- level research and publication. Teaching experience would be an advantage. Salary in the range: £21,125 – £25,451 per annum.

Post 2 will work on the development and implementation of the Unit> ‘> s outreach activities. Applicants should have, or be about to be awarded, a PhD in an appropriate field, for example: history of medicine, public understanding of science, history, or have equivalent relevant qualifications and experience in outreach activities. Salary in the range: £21,125 – £25,451 per annum.
