Faculty of Arts, Department of Philosophym University of Leeds Seeks 2 Lecturers
(Fixed term for 1 year, beginning 1 September 2009)
As part of its strategy of supporting research leave, the Department
of Philosophy is seeking to appoint two temporary Lecturers. The posts
arise in the first instance out of the need to cover the study leave
of a number of members of staff. The lectureships cover undergraduate
and postgraduate teaching and supervision in the following areas:
§ Philosophy of Science (particularly philosophy of physics)
§ Philosophy (particularly history of modern philosophy)
For either of these appointments, you will have a PhD (awarded or
nearing completion) in an appropriate area of Philosophy or Philosophy
of Science, relevant experience of teaching within the discipline and
will be developing a publication profile appropriate for submission in
the next REF exercise.
For all posts you will be able to demonstrate effective teaching
skills and a range of delivery techniques and assessment methods.
