Pending the availability of funding, the Department of Social Sciences at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a visiting assistant professor for a one-year appointment for the 2003-2004 academic year. Areas of specialization may include American environmental history, science and technology studies (STS), or political science with an environmental policy focus. Preferred qualifications include completion of a doctorate in history of technology, environmental history, STS, or political science with research interests in American technology and/or environment. (ABDs may apply as visiting lecturers.) Other essential qualifications include the ability to teach courses in the University’s general education program, especially a required course on the nature of institutions.
